Pulse Health Solutions is a Health Systems Advisory group specialising in providing practical, realistic and meaningful solutions to companies, government departments, funding agencies and NGOs working in the public health field. Our services include project management and implementation, research and evaluation of programmes, training and capacity building to strengthen the implementation arm of programmes and foster sustainable outcomes. The Advanced Clincial Care programme (ACC) is a CDC-funded intitiative that seeks to advance the management of Drug-Resistant HIV &TB, strengthen mechanisms for early idenfification and management of failing HIV/TB patients. Pulse Healthcare through funding from Kheth’Impilo is implementing the ACC programme in Gauteng and Mpumalanga.

Senior Medical Advisor x1 – Gauteng
(City of Johannesburg & Ekurhuleni)

The senior medical adviser will provide clinical and technical leadership by leading the training, coaching and mentorship of clinicians in supported facilities and districts. S/he will be responsible for ensuring effective coordination of activities with those of the DoH, District Support Partners, and other PEPFAR-funded activities.

Qualifications

  • A Medical Degree and/or a Diploma in HIV Medicine or Equivalent
  • Experience or exposure to managing DR TB and HIV DR
  • Advanced degree in MPH, PhD, or related degree in public health will be an advantage
  • Significant experience in the HIV/AIDS & TB Programs, health systems strengthening and capacity building
  • High level of interpersonal, technical, and analytical skills, including an ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with public sector counterparts and other stakeholders

Quality Nurse Mentors x2
(City of Johannesburg & Ekurhuleni)

The Nurse Mentors will work closely with the high impact facilities to advance th implementation of the ACC programme interventions. He/she will conduct file audits, mentor and coach clinical cadres on the management and monitoring of HIVDR and MDRTB. Working with the DoH he/she will ensure high-quality technical programming through hands-on guidance and support grounded in the programme’s strategic objectives and adhering to expected technical quality and implementation framework.

Qualifications

  • A Nursing Degree/PHC & Relevant Clinical Nurse qualification and registered with South African Nursing Council
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical experience and further training in HIV & TB
  • Experience in HIV/AIDS &TB, health systems &capacity building
  • Significant experience in development programs, mainly in the HIV/AIDS & TB
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, including proven ability to lead a multi-disciplinary teams

 

 

Senior Research / M&E Associate x1
(Gauteng)

The research/M&E associate will be responsible for data collection, data analysis, reporting, monitoring and evaluation of the ACC interventions. He/she will work closely with facilities to conduct file audits, review of facility data for quality and accuracy, implement data quality improvement interventions for robust monitoring and evaluation of the ACC programme. In addition will be expected to develop some research protocols and tools for monitoring programme performance against set targets.

Qualifications

  • A Degree in Science/Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Postgraduate qualification in Monitoring, Evaluation and Planning systems or Public Health
  • Certificate in District Health Information Systems (DHIS), Tier .NET, ETR .NET or any other relevant data management programmes or data analysis packages will be an added advantage.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation and or research
  • Knowledge of M&E issues and indicator development for system strengthening/capacity building with ability to build capacity in monitoring, evaluation and research.
  • Familiarity with PEPFAR indicators and reporting requirements will be an advantage.
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills.
