Background Africa Harvest Biotechnology Foundation International (Africa Harvest) was founded in 2002 and is incorporated in the USA as a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation. Its headquarters are in Nairobi, Kenya, and it has regional offices in Washington DC, USA and Johannesburg, South Africa. It is also registered in Canada and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Africa Harvest has ongoing projects in Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Ghana. It has an international and pan-African network of public and private partners. Its network of stakeholders at national and grassroots levels includes organizations representing Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), extension workers, rural communities and smallholder farmers.
