Africa Nature Investors (ANI) Foundation
Nigeria’s largest protected area, Gashaka Gumti National Park (GGNP) is located on the
border with Cameroon, covering parts of Taraba and Adamawa States. The park harbours a huge diversity of
wildlife, but is threatened by illegal cattle grazing, wildlife poaching, and logging. Africa Nature Investors
(ANI) is an African non-governmental organisation committed to bringing best-practice nature conservation to
West and East Africa. ANI was established to demonstrate that private-sector investment can make the
protection of nature profitable. As its first project, ANI has signed an agreement with the Nigerian National Park
Service (NPS) establishing a Private-Public Partnership (PPP) co-management model for Gashaka Gumti. A
similar agreement was also just signed between ANI Foundation and the NPS for Okomu National Park (ONP)
in Edo State. To support these projects, ANI is seeking a Head of Research.
