2015 Afrika Tikkun won the FW de Klerk Goodwill Award in recognition of our wide range of programs that empower vulnerable children and youth in South African townships. The Board of Trustees of the FW de Klerk Foundation established the FW de Klerk Goodwill Award in 2010 to give recognition to individuals and organizations that have made exceptional contributions to the promotion of goodwill between South Africans.2013 South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA) Transformation Award – Afrika Tikkun’s Uthando Community Center won the overall transformation category for successfully transforming a heritage building - the old Transvaal Memorial Children's Hospital - into a community center with classrooms, offices, parking, a playground and a vegetable garden.2012 Inaugural Sports for Social Change Network (SSCN) Award – The Nelson Mandela Children's Fund invited the SSCN members and stakeholders to a dinner showcasing best practices in the sport-for-development sector, during which Afrika Tikkun was one of the two awardees.2008 The Impumelelo Social Innovations Centre awarded Afrika Tikkun the Star Certificate for our Informal Education Program in Western Cape.2006 Mail & Guardian Investing in Life: Most Innovative Award.2005 Mail & Guardian Investing in the Future: Best Non-Profit Organization (NPO) Award.
