Asmae - Association Sœur Emmanuelle
Asmae-Association Soeur Emmanuelle (Asmae) is an NGO independent and secular international solidarity founded in 1980 by Sister Emmanuelle , known for its Belgian religious charities in Egypt , especially in the slums of Cairo . Asmae is an association specialized in the development of the child and of public utility .
The association operates in eight countries in partnership with local communities for education and child welfare in five areas: prevention of schooling and of school failure , protection and education of small children , prevention and care of children at risk , accompanying the adolescence , and support for children in handicap 6 . Its action aims to support the development of the most deprived children so that they become autonomous adults, actors of their future and that of their community.
The main beneficiaries are children, the most vulnerable, from poor families, from slums, from the street, or disabled or ill-treated.
