Women Support Association (WSA) is an indigenous, non-political, non-religious, non-profit humanitarian and development oriented organization working in Ethiopia for the improvement of the social, economic, and physical well-being of the poor women in particular and the community in general.
Who we are
Women Support Association (WSA) is an indigenous, non-political, non-religious, non-profit humanitarian and development oriented organization working in Ethiopia for the improvement of the social, economic, and physical well-being of the poor women in particular and the community in general. WSA was established in 1995. It is registered and licensed by Charities and Societies Agency (CSA) as an Ethiopian Residents Charity in accordance with the Charities and Societies Proclamation No. 621/2009. It has secured a renewed license with certificate No. 0922 from CSA issued on 13th April 2016.
Current operational areas
WSA operates in 2 (two) regions (SNNPR and Amhara National Regional State) and 7 Zones, 23 Woredas and has offices in North Wollo Mersa Town, North Shoa Shoarobit, Gamogofa Zone Arbaminch town and South Omo Jinka town. Moreover, there are area liaison offices at Segen Peoples zone Konso town, and Wolayita zone Sodo town. As per the new organizational strategic plan (2017 – 2021), the organization has also planned to expand its intervention to Oromiya and Gambella regional states. Currently, the organization has 120 staffs (55 F).
