4 in 5 girls in East Africa lack access to sanitary pads and related health education. As a result, nearly 1 million girls in Kenya miss up to 6 weeks of school a year, contributing to girls dropping out of school at two times the rate of boys.
ZanaAfrica Foundation works to combat this issue by providing pads and innovative health education so girls can stay in school and step into their potential. We also advocate for systemic change in order to make menstrual health management a recognized human right.We envision a world where girls in East Africa live healthy, safe, educated lives while defining their own purpose.
