St Joseph’s Home for Chronically Ill Children is a private, but state funded home that provides convalescent care and medical services for up to 145 children who suffer from chronic and debilitating illnesses. To this end St Joseph’s Home has four dedicated wards plus our Sunflower HIV ward.

St Joseph’s Home seeks to appoint a Fundraising Admin Assistant, to be based in Cape Town.

Report to: The Fundraising Manager

The purpose of the position is to manage the in kind donation process.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the in kind donation procedure: receive, record, sort and distribute
  • Storage and security of stock
  • Liaise with internal staff re needs of the patients and home
  • Plan needs, costing and ordering of children’s school wear and casual wear and babywear
  • Build and maintain relationships with current in – kind donors
  • Issue thank you letters for all donations
  • Identify projects and potential donors and that will assist and match the children’s needs (Clothing, groceries, food parcels)
  • Write proposals as required and manage the progress of successful campaigns and donations
  • Support the fundraising team with all fundraising campaigns
  • Collect donations from donors when transport not available

Requirements:

  • Experience in NGO basic fundraising administration
  • Fluent in at least two RSA languages
  • Competence in all Microsoft office packages with a high level of proficiency in excel
  • Numeracy
  • Driver’s licence
  • Admin orientation
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • High energy levels
  • Deadline driven
  • Planning and organising
