The Early Care Foundation develops and facilitates early childhood development training programmes for under-skilled practitioners and owners of home-based crèches. The Early Care Foundation training equips beneficiaries with the necessary skills to provide a stimulating educational environment and meet the nutritional needs of the children in their care. The Early Care Foundation assists crèches to develop their facilities in order to comply with standards prescribed by the Departments of Education, Health and Social Development to help them register their ECD centres and access social development subsidies.

Early Care Foundation seeks to appoint Personal Assistant to the Director to be based in Johannesburg.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 and secretarial qualification
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as personal assistant at executive level
  • Strong administrative skills with ability to work in a pressured environment
  • Ability to use discretion and deal with sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner (essential)
  • Highly proactive and capable of anticipating and addressing stakeholder needs to strengthen and build network relationships
  • Attention to detail
  • High energy levels and a desire to succeed and work hard
  • People and organisational skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Team player
  • Professional, punctual and reliable
  • Event management experience

Technical Abilities

  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel at an advanced level
  • Basic understanding of accounting fundamentals
  • Administration, documentation and files management
  • Excellent telephonic etiquette
  • Ability to screen incoming calls or visitors, assess their nature and take appropriate action
  • Language – English and other South African languages
  • Valid driver’s licence is essential

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and administrative support to the Director for overall effective and efficient functioning
  • Telephone: Manage incoming/outgoing telephone calls, taking messages and attending to queries
  • Diary and travel management
  • Events management
  • Interaction with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner
