Chemonics seeks Finance Interns for the USAID/Tanzania Lishe (Nutrition) Project. The five-year project aims to strengthen health and food market systems that promote the adoption of optimal nutrition-related behaviors across a range of stakeholders in targeted regions in Tanzania. We are seeking individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. The Finance Interns will be based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Candidates must be recent graduates in finance, accounting, business management, or a related field from an accredited institution. The Finance Interns will apply the knowledge that was acquired throughout undergraduate studies to build financial management skills and gain practical experience working with the finance team of an international development firm. The Finance Interns will assist the finance team with a variety of administrative and accounting tasks as directed. The Finance Interns will be supervised by the Project Accountant.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Review and verify transaction supporting documents.
  • Scan and name/rename released GJ files into the Project’s finance folder on SharePoint and ensure proper organization of the Project’s finance files.
  • Assist with accounts receivable management.
  • Update the Finance Payment Tracker.
  • Review participant payment packages and upload the documents
  • Enter transactions into the Project’s accounting software.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business management, or related. Bachelor’s degree may not have been earned more than two years ago.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong organizational and work prioritization skills, attention to detail.
