ABOUT THE JOB

SIZING OF THE TEAM ON THE BASE / IN COORDINATION

  • 1 Fin Assist + 1 HR Assist (+ Cook and 2 cleaners to followup)

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

  • The Admin manager will implement and supervise all Fin/admin/HR operations at his/her assigned base in line with Solidarités International procedures.

ISSUES AND SPECIFIC CHALLENGES

  • Potential threat- Total LTD is restarting their activities in Afungi and there is a possibility of mass recruitment which could result to the base loosing staff to this competitor.
  • Our other base in Mucimboa is also expanding and given that some of our staff come from that locality they would want to relocate: Ability to attract key positions due to the remoteness of the area and perceived poor security.
  • Close collaboration with Log team for processes implementation and follow up; Archiving system tto be followed up on.

PRIORITIES ON THE 2-3 FIRST MONTHS

  • Archiving process ongoing to be continued and strengthened.
  • Close follow up of national HR and monitoring of performance and capacity building with managers.
  • Strengthen financial visibility of the programs and structure costs of the base.
  • Assessing potential for nationalization in expatriate positions.

YOUR PROFILE

DIPLOMAS

  • Bachelor degree in business administration, management, finance or other qualifications in related field.

EXPERIMENT IN THE HUMANITARIAN SECTOR

  • 2-4 years

EXPERIMENT ON SIMILAR POSITIONS

  • 0-2 years

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of SAGA & HOMERE
  • Experience in HR management

TRANSVERSAL SKILLS

  • Training skills / team & capacity building

  • Rigor and agility,autonomous, organized, ability to priorities and to work under pressure.

LANGUAGES

  • English ( written & spoken) – Mandatory

A salaried position:

According to experience, starting from EUR 2310 gross per month (2100 base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD 750 paid in local currency.

LIVING CONDITIONS

  • Living conditions in Mueda are exceptionally good given the remoteness of the location.
  • Guesthouse premises are roomy, with some improvements done and basic entertainment facilities exist, particularly a garden, basic sports (ping pong, darts, volleyball, pétanque etc.).
  • Basic food and hygiene items can be accessed in the local market , but are limited to local sources and basic essential imported goods.
  • Specific food items can be sourced from Pemba, and regular movements allow for this sourcing.
  • Cooks and cleaners are fine in their capacities and efforts are being put in place to standardise housekeeping and maintenance processes.
  • Very simple bars and restaurants are available nearby, walking distance from guesthouse and office. Curfew as of 7:30 PM.

SECURITY CONSTRAINTS

  • Context can change quickly, while at the time of writing the situation remains calm, a strong monitoring is important.
