Mission and description of the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Business Development Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in driving our business development efforts, supporting senior staff, and developing strong client relationships. Fluency in French and English, along with an initiative and detail-oriented approach, is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Outreach and Relationship Building:
    • Assist in building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers within target client organizations.
    • Participate in the organization of events and marketing campaigns for (potential) clients and partners.
  • Proposal Development and Coordination:
    • Work closely with technical and financial teams to develop compelling and customized proposals for clients, highlighting the benefits of Bluesquare’s services and solutions.
    • Ensure proposals align with client needs, local regulations, and company objectives.
    • Support the coordination of the proposal design and writing process, including criteria quality assurance, team profile(s) alignment, and technical inputs.
    • Assist on building viable budgets for proposals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals and market offering.
  • Coordinate Go/No-Go Decision Process:
    • Screen various websites and pipeline portals to identify relevant opportunities and leads.
    • Access scoped opportunities against organizational priorities ahead of presenting them to management for consideration.
    • Create opportunity assets for end-to-end transparency on offers (CRM, Google Drive, Communication Channels, etc.)
  • Client and Contact Management:
    • Create leads and update information across the CRM tools (Odoo, Hubspot, etc.)
  • Reporting:
    • Provide regular reports on business development activities, pipeline status, and market insights to the management team.
    • Lead recurring update meetings with management team members.
  • Standardized Materials and Marketing Assets:
    • Coordinate and contribute to the creation of strategic documents for internal and external use (ex: country capacity statements, organizational capacities, past project references,etc.).
    • Manage internal CV database to ensure resources are best represented for each opportunity/proposal submission.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Business, Economics, Global Health or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in business development or a similar role.
  • Entrepreneurial problem-solver with an independent and business-oriented mindset.
  • Confident communicator in both French and English.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with a remote team.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Slack, Google Suite, Odoo (or alternate CRMs), Hubspot, Teams, Sharepoint, and Jira.
  • Team player who can easily adapt to new and/or competing priorities.
  • Customer/client-focused with a respect for diversity and inclusion.
  • Ability to autonomously gather relevant information on customers, opportunities, partners, and country context while applying critical thinking to meet various demands.
  • Displays professionalism and ethical behavior in all workplace interactions.
  • Bonus: Existing industry knowledge and familiarity with health/development sectors and non-profit organizations.
