FOLUR Project Officer

POSITION SUMMARY – This position is based in
Monrovia, Liberia
Under the supervision of the Liberia GEF Portfolio Manager, the FOLUR Project Officer is responsible for providing essential services for the effective and efficient implementation of field activities. The FOLUR Project Officer provides support to the Portfolio Manager and MEAL Manager in the implementation and monitoring and evaluation of project activities. In addition, the FOLUR Project Officer provides secretarial services and GIS support to the Project Management Unit (PMU) and the Country Program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide secretarial services to the Project Management Unit (PMU) and ensure that all meeting minutes are developed and shared with the relevant stakeholders.
- Organize project workshops and travels, including making logistical arrangements.
- Work closely with the MEAL Manager to provide GIS support to the FOLUR and other projects in the Liberia country program.
- Support the MEAL Manager and other project leads in geospatial data collection activities and documentation.
- Set up project filling system to be applied and followed by all project staff for maintaining all project files and documentation .
- Participate in weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings to be organized or led by the CI to discuss project progress.
- Support the Portfolio Manager in the preparation of quarterly, and annual work plans and budgets.
- Support the Portfolio Manager in the production of timely technical and financial quarterly and annual project progress reports.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor from time to time.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- This position will have minimal field travel.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 2 to 4 years of related work experience, preferably in the conservation, NGO, or advocacy arena using Rights-based approaches and insight in community engagement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Comfortable managing multiple duties and adapting to changing priorities.
- Service focused. Courteous, tactful, and proven ability to work effectively in teams and with others.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English, and an ability to prepare appropriate and timely reports to multiple audiences.
- Highly resourceful and attentive to details.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Knowledge of GIS suites including Google Maps Platform, GeoServer, Esri ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo, GeoMedia, etc is an advantage.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, Conservation Agriculture, Climate Smart Agriculture, Geospatial Studies, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Sciences, or related field with certification in Project Management.
- Understanding of government processes and other International NGO regulations/requirements.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex information to a diverse audience.
- Strong organization, teamwork, project management, and prioritization skills.
