Here’s where you come in:

As Infrastructure Technical Lead, you will support a World Bank funded humanitarian response project implemented in South Sudan. You are expected to utilize their expertise in physics, mathematics and civil engineering to design and assess the structural integrity of buildings and non-building structures (dykes, bridges, roads etc) ensuring that the structures are safe and capable of withstanding environmental forces and human use. You will design, develop and lead construction of huge range of projects of the physically and naturally built environment from conception through to completion. You will have a say in how the construction/rehabilitation projects will look like in a complex and challenging environment, contribute towards healthy infrastructure and make a lasting positive impact to society.

Requirements include:

  • Master degree Environmental Engineering, Social Sciences, Civil Engineering or B.Sc. in Water and Environmental Engineering and M.Sc. in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Post Graduate Diploma project planning and management.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in infrastructure works or in Water and/or Sanitation Project implementation. And 3 years’ experience in fragile context programming.
  • The ability to manage large technical projects in a complex environment and different fields of technical expertise involved.
  • Quality Assessment and Quality Control procedures for technical projects.
  • Knowledge of and experience in institutional arrangements, and political environment associated with community infrastructure development in South Sudan. Existing connections and relationships with local technical agencies will be an advantage.
  • Proven experience in project management related to a complex political environment and resilient infrastructure in South Sudan and in particular, NBeG and/or Warrap States will be an added advantage.
