DRS (DevelopmentAid Recruitment Solutions) is looking for a Business Development Manager for an international company with experience in the engineering sector. This position will play a critical role in expanding our market presence and driving growth in the infrastructure sector. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and leading the development and execution of strategic business development initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth market research to uncover trends, identify growth opportunities, and assess potential projects within core engineering sectors, including roads, water infrastructure, energy, and sustainable development.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with the company’s growth objectives, focusing on creating and enhancing competitive advantages.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector clients, and industry partners. Ensure consistent and positive engagement with key clients and partners.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to conceptualize and design project solutions that align with client needs and meet industry standards.
  • Work closely with engineering and finance teams to align project objectives with company capabilities and strategic priorities.
  • Establish and maintain a pipeline of business development opportunities and see them to successful acquisition and execution.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field is an added advantage).
  • Minimum of 10 years in business development within the engineering infrastructure sector, with a track record of successful project acquisition and management.
  • Strong foundation in engineering principles, project management experience, and proficiency in project management and CRM software; skilled in drafting clear proposals, reports, and presentations.
  • Excellent analytical abilities with a proven aptitude for effective negotiation, client engagement, and relationship-building.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project financing models, including PPPs.
  • Knowledgeable in incorporating sustainable practices and ESG principles.
  • Analytical ability to leverage industry trends for strategic positioning.
