About the role

Support the Finance & Administration Manager in Country Office’s financial management and compliance, accounting, and audit to ensure efficient utilization of resources and timely reporting. S/He will work closely with the Regional Office Corporate Services unit and Country Office’s Program Staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of weekly batches and update of bank books, mid-month, month end and yearend financial reports for the County Office.
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations and petty cash reports and reconciliations
  • Data entry of weekly transactions in both Great Plains (GP) Dynamics or ERP, preparation of Journal Entries, AP/MP Entries in GP.
  • Processing of Operational Payment Requests, Travel Authorization Requests, and Expense Reports for the Country Office.
  • Monitor the accuracy of Ethiopia projects and contracts information entered in the Contracts Database and that all related milestones are always kept up to date by Program Officers.
  • Support Finance & Administration Manager in preparation of Pure Program, Operational and Indirect budgets and monthly budget management.
  • Support the Finance & Administration Manager in preparation for annual statutory and internal audits, including preparation of draft financial statements, audit schedules and audit support documentation as required by the auditors.
  • Monitoring of cashflow and preparation of quarterly cash forecast.
  • Review and submit for approval Program Finance documentation and requests which includes P-REQs, Contract Approval Sheets, Payment Request Forms, Contract and Project Closure Forms, etc.

About You;

You have;

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • At least 5 years accounting experience and a minimum of 3 years in an international NGO.
  • Expertise in accounting principles, financial systems, budgeting, and controls in international contexts.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, accounting software (GP/NetSuite preferred), and familiarity with databases.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and coaching skills.
  • Effective financial and HR management abilities with solid planning and organizational skills.
  • Initiative-driven, problem-solving, and client-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
