CONTEXT AND DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
The Reporting Associate will fulfil internal and external reporting requests. S/he is supervised by the Reporting Officer or another professional staff depending on the staffing structure of the Office. The incumbent receives regular guidance and advice from the supervisor. Advice and operational support may also be received from other senior staff and support units at the Country Office / HQ. The incumbent will establish strong liaison with both internal and external parties, including Donors, UN Agencies, and Implementing and Operational partners.
THE INCUMBENT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING ASSIGNED DUTIES:
Accountability (key results that will be achieved)
- The reporting requirements are fulfilled accurately and in a timely manner.
Responsibility (process and functions undertaken to achieve results)
- Stay abreast with the operational developments, and prepare, write and edit briefing notes, internal/external reports, background materials, and talking points.
- Assist in consolidation of data/inputs and prepare, write and edit periodic reports, including Fact Sheets, Operational Updates, and other activity specific reports.
- Draft and edit funding submissions, appeals and reports.
- Consolidate and edit inputs for donor proposals and reports, in compliance with specific donor requirements.
- Prepare and distribute meeting minutes as required.
- Liaise with internal and external partners to gather information.
- Perform any related other duties as required.
Authority (decisions made in executing responsibilities and to achieve results)
- Enforce compliance with reporting requirements.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE - Undergraduate degree (equivalent of a BA/BS) in Journalism, International Relations, Communications, Political Science or similar relevant field plus minimum 6 years of relevant job experience. Secondary Education with certificate/ training in Journalism or International/Humanitarian law or other related fields with at least 11 years of appropriate professional experience may also be accepted.
- Excellent drafting and communication skills in English.
- Very good understanding of UNHCR.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent knowledge of English and local language.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- Previous experience with UNHCR
- Completion of relevant UNHCR training programmes.
- Experience with dealing with the public and diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with dealing with donors.
