Job Brief

With several years of experience as a rehabilitation Assistant in rehabilitation centre/s particularly in a refugee context and multitasking with maintenance, documentation, and interpersonal communication skills, and looking to expand experience and knowledge in management and interpersonal interactions, the ideal candidate for this role should demonstrate compassion, patience, and a sound understanding of therapy procedures, while remaining committed to supporting at-risk persons with disabilities (PwDs) and older persons (OPs) to improve their quality of life.

 

Responsibility

·         Developing and implementing an individualized rehabilitation plan

·         Supervise community workers who support the project activities at community level

·         Provide mobility aid maintenance services at rehabilitation centre

·         Provide physiotherapy for clients who will be identified for the services

·         Work in partnership with monitoring agencies (RRS and UNHCR)

·         Create a conducive working environment and work closely with different community structures (RCC, Women Association, youth association/club, OPA, PwDA and others)

·         Advocate in establishing or strengthening functional referral mechanism for social and medical services.

·         In place all important tools to strengthen complaint feedback and response mechanism

·         Conduct mapping exercise to have a reliable data of PSNs (OP, PwD, and other PSNs), particularly those individuals living with disability challenges;

·         Conduct regular home-to home visit with Community workers for clients who need home based rehabilitation services as well Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS);

·         Help clients with therapeutic exercise in the rehabilitation centre

·         Maintain and clean therapy equipment and space

·         Monitor and record clint progresses

·         Provide support and education to clients and their families about the recovery processes

·         Assist clients with mobility and daily living activities as needed

·         Always ensure client safety and comfort

·         Communicate regularly with healthcare professionals through referral mechanism in place.

About You

Qualifications

·         Physiotherapy BSC, Orthopaedic level four, or occupational therapist BSC, or related fields of studies

·         Proven work experience as assistant rehabilitation officer

·         Knowledge of physical therapy principles and practices

·         Good physical conditions and endurance

·         First Aid and CPR certification is a plus

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·         Strong organizational and multitasking skills

·         Patient and compassionate nature
