I- OPPORTUNITY

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is the head of the Business Development Unit. He/she will be responsible for fundraising and resource mobilisation, in order to .Design and implement a robust resource mobilisation strategy that includes diversified funding sources and influencing new donors in line with our purpose and ambition. S/he will be able to identify grant opportunities and develop high quality proposals in close coordination with strategic programme units and programme delivery areas that reflect our programme approach and areas of specificity. As part of grant management, he/she will ensure that grant documents (FADS, SPADs, agreements, proposals, work plans, memoranda of understanding, approved budget templates, etc.) are submitted in a timely manner.Manage the grant modules in Plan’s enterprise system and comply with the required standards in SAP, ERP and YODA. He/she will also be responsible for cost compliance and recovery by ensuring that all cost categories are taken into account at the conceptualisation and submission stage of grant preparation. He/she will implement cost allocation procedures and ensure consistency in the allocation of project costs. S/he will also be responsible for NO and donor engagement by building successful and proactive relationships that align donor priorities with programme needs; and working with appropriate companies to align their sustainable strategies with Plan International CMR to identify win-win positions. He/she will develop the necessary strategies and take the appropriate steps to ensure that staff are motivated and able to contribute to the overall objective of the organisation by possessing the right attitudes and adequate levels of skills and knowledge. and by Establishing a culture of responsibility and mutual respect in line with our values and behaviours.

II- ABOUT YOU

The Business Development Manager (BDM) must have a postgraduate degree (minimum Master’s level) in a relevant field (economics, international relations, etc.). And at least 5 years’ professional experience in a similar position, including at least 3 years in a management role in the development sector within an international NGO or other grant-funded organisation.  He/she should also have Experience in humanitarian programming is highly desirable and proven experience in writing project proposals for EC/EU, ECHO, USAID, Global Fund, GFFO, BMZ, UN agencies, etc. and in obtaining grants for development and humanitarian response projects from institutional donors.

Plan International is an international organisation or development which works in 51 countries across Africa, the Americas, and Asia to promote the safeguarding of children.It is a nonprofit organisation and is one of the world's largest organisations based on children, it works in 58,000 communities with the help of volunteers to improve how 56 million children live. The charity also has 21 national organisations who have been given the responsibility to oversee the raising of funds and awareness in their individual countries.

When they witnessed the conflict change the lives of children, they founded ‘Foster Parents Plan for Children in Spain’, which would later change its name to Plan International. Set up in 1937, the organisation provided food, shelter and clothing to children whose lives had been destroyed by the war.
