The Opportunity
The Project Manager is required to co-ordinate and manage Child Protection and GBV Projects funded by UNICEF in South Sudan, in line with international best practices and relevant guidelines, ensuring that proposed results are achieved on time, within budget and in compliance with donor regulations.
You will be responsible for supervising project staff to ensure timely and quality implementation and monitoring of the project activities and support the orientation and ongoing training for child protection staff on child protection, gender based violence case management, supervision/coaching tools, monitoring and tracking and referral systems.
You will be responsible for reporting in line with donor and Plan International’s requirements, tracking and managing project expenditure including monthly budget forecasting and budget revisions and supporting resource mobilisation efforts in proposal writing and related engagement.
You will lead on further assessments and work closely with Monitoring and Evaluation staff on the ongoing review of project progress.
You will represent Plan International in coordination meetings such as the protection cluster, child protection sub-cluster and gender based violence sub-cluster.
The Individual
You will have significant experience in child protection and Gender Based Violence programming in the humanitarian sector and solid knowledge and practical experience in community based child protection approaches, case management, psychosocial support, gender based violence and child participation methodologies.
Proven experience of working with UN funded projects and experience of managing the programme cycle, including assessments, proposal and report writing, budget management and monitoring and evaluation will be essential.
Demonstrated strong management, coordination, teamwork and planning skills with the proven ability to function effectively with multiple counterparts in private, public and NGO sectors, building relationships and fostering interagency coordination will be vital to the success of this role.
