WVE is currently looking for a candidate for the Commodity Stock controller Post. The successful candidate will have skills and experience that meet the following requirements:

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The SPIR /DFSA Senior Stock Controller will provide expertise in ensuring, controlling all commodity transactions, records, flow and commodity reporting. The stock controller will ensure smooth commodity handling and movement. The stock controller will hugely contribute for program effectiveness through maintaining donor and organizational standards / requirements in context to SPIR DFSA operation.   This position will also stretch to enhance the capacity of implementing partners in terms of technical skill transfer and ensure the commodity transaction quality across implementing agencies.

This position will take responsibility for controlling commodity transaction, flow, handling, movement, and all mandatory commodity reporting. It will strengthen the commodity management system to maintain the required commodity handling procedures and regulations. On top of that, it is quite clear that it will improve directly handling commodity under WV custody and support partners periodically to operate according to commodity management and handling principles.      ,

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Its aim is also to closely work with all DFSA FAM internal team, PDP, Field Offices, and partners in order to comply with all required standards in areas of commodity transaction controlling and reporting. Major Responsibilities
·         Record all daily commodity receipts and dispatch transactions into stock cards to maintain and control the stock balance (PDP and Siraro Woreda).
·         Monitor and review the physical inventory of all primary and secondary warehouses in areas of responsibility for monthly reconciliation.
·         Ensure well managed WV PDP and Siraro commodity receipt, dispatch, requisition pads, waybills, distribution center visit report, distribution lists and prepare monthly Commodity Status Reports (CSR), Recipient Status Reports (RSR), Loss Status Reports (LSR) and documentation/filing.
·         Review IPs documents on received commodities, distributed and remaining balance to avoid over or under distribution
·         Work on Commodity Tracking System (CTS) data base. Assist the FAIRC on data entry and review of field office monthly commodity transaction reports
·         Work on IC report and provide support to the FAIRC in order to meet reporting standards and compliance in a timely manner

Job Requirements

Qualifications:  Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Preferred BA or BSC in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Accounting, Accounting, and Management Information System, and Related Fields of studies.
  • Experience:  3-5 Years of relevant professional experience in relief /development food assistance program or similar experience in INGO as a commodity accountant/commodity stock controller is preferred.
  • Trained in commodity management (certificate),
  • Trained in LMMS ( Certificate) or have good experience in operating LMMS
  • Trained on CCTS system or working experience on CCTS is highly advantageous
  • Good knowledge of computer ( Certificate
  • Exposure to food aid programs environment
  • Experience in working on USAID funded food resources, and commodity stock controlling and reporting skills
  • Knowledge and Experience of working on CCTS and DGDB / food grant database/
  • Experience and skill of commodity report writing
  • Good knowledge of oral and written English language.

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment:  Office-based with frequent travel to the field
  • Travel:  more than 30% of Domestic travel is required.
  • On call:  15%
