About us
Christian Aid views poverty as an affront to humanity — stripping people of dignity, freedom, hope, and the power to shape their own lives. Our vision is clear: every person should experience life in all its fullness. We believe this vision can become reality by meeting people in moments of urgent need while addressing the root causes of poverty. We are committed to building a world free from poverty, where all people are treated with equal dignity, able to realize their rights, and empowered to participate fully in society. This conviction stems from our belief that everyone should be able to fulfil their God‑given potential. In South Sudan, we strive to bring lasting change to the lives of the poorest and most conflict‑affected communities. We work wherever the need is greatest, supporting people to find their own solutions regardless of religion, caste, or creed. If you are passionate about driving positive change among the most vulnerable and excluded, this opportunity may be for you.
Christian Aid is investing in a Consortium Project Coordinator to provide overall coordination, leadership, and operational oversight for the Conflict Anticipatory Action Project (CAAP) in South Sudan. This role is central to ensuring effective collaboration among consortium partners, alignment with donor requirements, and timely delivery of anticipatory interventions that strengthen resilience and peace in conflict‑affected communities.
We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, and recognise the value this brings in forming strong, creative and high performing teams. We welcome applications from all sections of the community, and from those with experience from outside of the voluntary sector. And no, you don’t have to be Christian to work here – we encourage people of all faiths and none to apply. We just ask that everyone lives out our values of dignity, equality, justice and love.
About the role
Christian Aid is seeking a dynamic and innovative professional to serve as Consortium Project Coordinator for the Conflict Anticipatory Action Project (CAAP) in South Sudan.
This role will enable Christian Aid to fulfil its function as a convenor, connector, and catalyst by providing strategic leadership, coordination, and oversight, while ensuring partner accountability and compliance with donor requirements and reporting standards.
During the build-up phase, the role will convene consortium partners, including the South Sudan Council of Churches (SSCC) and Hope Restoration South Sudan (HRSS), the Start Network, technical partners such as ACAPS, Crisis Lens and Climate Centre, together with key stakeholders including the Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring and Verification Mechanism (CTSAMVM), the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), the South Sudan Red Cross, ACT Alliance, Caritas, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), community structures such as the Inter-Church Committee, civil society actors, and relevant authorities.
The role will support the development of a shared anticipatory action system, including activation architecture and an early action matrix that combines automated signals, expert judgement, and community consensus, with clear roles, timing, and practical costings. It will also ensure that synthesized analysis is shared with relevant agencies, to inform anticipatory action and strengthen collective accountability.
As a connector, the role will strengthen relationships across the consortium, link local knowledge with technical expertise, and support the effective flow of information, learning, and decision-making. As a catalyst, it will promote innovation and help create the conditions for timely, inclusive, and conflict-sensitive anticipatory action. Through facilitation, training, monitoring and evaluation, and regular engagement with partners and stakeholders, the role will help build momentum, strengthen partner capacity, and support coherent delivery in fragile and conflict-affected contexts.
About you
You are an experienced and collaborative professional with strong skills in project coordination, partner management, and conflict-sensitive anticipatory action.
You have a proven ability to convene diverse stakeholders, translate analysis into practical plans, and support delivery against agreed priorities, timelines, and reporting requirements.
You are confident in providing oversight, maintaining partner accountability, and ensuring compliance with donor standards, while working in a participatory and inclusive way.
You bring strong facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills, and you are able to connect local knowledge with technical expertise to support timely and effective action in fragile and conflict-affected contexts.
This role is well suited to someone who is motivated to make a meaningful contribution within a hardworking, supportive, and purpose-driven team.
