COSPE, an organization dedicated to international cooperation, social justice, and migration for over 40 years, promoting diversity and equity within its working environments, ensuring equal access to professional opportunities for women, racialized individuals, members of LGBTQ+ communities, and other underrepresented groups, is seeking a Country Finance Manager (CFM) for its office in Zimbabwe. The role involves supporting Project Managers and staff in the financial and administrative management of projects.

ROLE OBJECTIVE

The CFM supports the Country Representative (CR) in performing administrative and financial functions related to the management of COSPE’s office in Zimbabwe, while ensuring the administrative, financial, and accounting management of projects in compliance with donor, COSPE, and local regulations, including audits and reporting.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with project coordinators on financial planning, preparing and updating procurement plans, and regularly monitoring financial progress.
  • Liaise with partner staff to oversee resource management and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
  • Assist coordinators with tender processes in line with internal and donor rules.
  • Conduct monthly checks on available funds, request funds from the Italian headquarters, and authorize payments related to assigned projects.
  • Ensure the validity and completeness of administrative and accounting documents, managing the archive and project asset inventory.
  • Plan financial reporting in coordination with the administration staff in Italy.
  • Contribute to the training of COSPE staff on administrative and accounting procedures.
  • Support personnel contract management in compliance with local regulations.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in finance, economics, or related fields, or specific experience in administrative and accounting management of international projects.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the administrative and accounting management of development cooperation projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of management and reporting rules of major international donors, especially EU (PRAG).
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of the Zimbabwean context
  • Ability to work collaboratively and in multicultural environments
  • Knowledge of a second language among Italian, French, or Spanish
  • Ability to meet deadlines and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Motivation and alignment with COSPE’s values: Cooperation, Respect, Consistency, Professionalism, and Creativity

OFFER

  • Compensation: Commensurate with actual experience, evaluating skill levels, work history, and specific qualifications.
  • Duration: 12 months, renewable.
  • Contract Start Date: Expected in September 2025.
