Position title: Data Management/Project Intern.

Reports to: Senior Landscape Manager.

Location: Somalomo Dja, Cameroon.

Position Summary

The Data Management/Project Intern will assist programs with data compilation, management, analysis, and storage. This will also entail support to planning, execution, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control of data, as also the management of data related to research projects and follow-up of program data programs to achieve project objectives within the given timeline and budget. The ideal candidate will have experience in good communication skills and a strong interest in scientific research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of data related to projects and programs.
  • Update monthly project plan as required
  • Enter, organize, and maintain data in databases and spreadsheets and regularly update this information.
  • Assist in the analysis and preparation of data for use in reports and presentations
  • Participate in team meetings and provide input on data management and analysis
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through regular quality checks and verification procedures for all data (Biomonitoring, Law enforcement, community development, administrative)
  • Assist in the development and implementation of data management plans and standard operating procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of project data
  • Stay current with scientific literature and research trends in data management and analysis
  • Assisting in the preparation of project plans and schedules epbmIMb BIpnb
  • Conducting research and analysis to assist in project decision making
  • Generating reports and documents to present project progress and status updates
  • Assisting in quality control and assurance activities to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements and skills

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s in project management or related field Information Science, Data Science, and social science field related to conservation and development (Development, Project Management, Environmental Science or Natural Resource Management, Forestry).
  • Knowledge of project management software such as Microsoft, Excel, R is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from project managers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software programs for data management and analysis.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Good knowledge of data management and analysis concepts and tools.
