The opportunity
- Provide updates on the education situation in areas affected by the emergency, highlighting education and protection related issues;
- Prepare distribution plans and organise distributions (considering distribution points, timing, monitoring and supervision, community involvement, feedback mechanisms, PSEA and child safeguarding), in coordination with the Education Officer and school authorities;
- Undertake regular field visits to project schools/communities to support monitoring activities (including education and learning related activities) against log frames and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks
- In collaboration with district officials and school councils, support identification of out of school children, participate in school monitoring and evaluation and ensure teachers adhere to the teacher code of conduct, PSEA policies and child safeguarding
- Mobilise communities and organise inclusive community education campaigns in project communities to ensure children affected by conflict return to/stay in school;
- Ensure implementation of quality and accountability mechanisms, as well as the monitoring and reporting of major concerns on education, and child protection concerns inside and around the schools/learning centres
- Where required, support appropriate representation in education coordination mechanisms at district level, including any relevant cluster meetings, prepare and share notes from meetings and undertake follow-up of agreed action points;
- Provide regular updates to ECHO Project Manager on activity progress, priorities and constraints, including activities implemented by partners – verbally and in writing on agreed frequency (including 5Ws reporting)
- Support with the organisation of relevant trainings/workshops for education staff, partners, key stakeholders and teaching staff (beneficiaries), which support inclusive and gender transformative education (including PSS, DRR, Inclusive Education, child-centred learning/instructional approaches, continuous learning assessment, etc);
About You
- University degree in education, social sciences or related field with good knowledge of the Mozambique education system;
- Minimum 2 years of in-field experience in project implementation, community mobilisation, humanitarian affairs, and related fields;
- Knowledge of INEE Minimum Standards, Do No Harm principles and the Core Humanitarian Standards;
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate clearly and sensitively. This includes effective negotiation and representation skills and the ability to work comfortably with a wide range of stakeholders with different interests;
- Able to mobilise communities, confidence in talking to people both in groups and on a one-to-one basis and excellent listening skills;
- Has an understanding of child safeguarding and equality for girls, and demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to gender and diversity;
- Willingness and availability to travel, including to remote locations and often at short-notice;
- Good knowledge of the context of Cabo Delgado province in general;
- Good command of Portuguese, both verbal and written, as well as local languages spoken Cabo Delgado.

Grade: 13, (Pay range 1.085.793,96MT a 1.221.516,00MT annual gross) Plan reserves the right to pay according to internal procedures.
