Overview of position
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Sub Office and direct supervision of the Migration Health Physician; and in coordination with the Head of the PHCC, the incumbent will support the overall health activities, service delivery, development and coordination of all IOM JICA project. He/she shall coordinate planned health outreaches, coordinate training planning/logistics, collate patient/hospital data/records. He/she shall provide leadership and guidance in establishing the highest standards of care and ensuring optimal delivery of quality care in line with international best practices He/she will undertake the below tasks as mentioned in this TOR
Role objectives
- Responsible for coordinating all field activities related to the project in his/her PHCC
- Responsible for coordinating and mobilizing staff for capacity building.
- Responsible for coordinating and mobilizing staff for health sensitization and TB screening in his/her health facility.
- Assist in the overall management of the documentation process of the project, updating all records in a database and monitor all project documentation flow.
- Coordinate with warehouse colleagues in ensuring that all goods are stacked, stored, and updating the stock cards where necessary.
- Receive goods from vendors/transporters and inspect the quantity/quality to ensure they all meet the same specifications and standards ordered and monitor the loading/offloading activities; and verify all documents received related to goods received and services provided for the project
- Manage the archiving system with proper labels.
- Maintain an accurate inventory through cycle/directed counting.
- Maintain detailed reports on clinic health service delivery (Patient records) and report on their progress
- Supporting in Managing critical and emergency cases, and appropriate referral of complicated cases to other specialist.
- Participate in patient care to help the patient to fully recover from their illness and schedule the patient follow up as post-recovery treatment is considered important
- Keeping abreast of the latest medical information and breakthroughs, through continuous medical education, formal education and personal professional development; and observing and staying up-to-date with the laws and statutory codes of medical practice
- Document, summarize and share monthly report of his PHCC activities to his/her supervisor
- Participate in design and formulation of unit policies, SOPs and clinical pathways
- Performing other applicable tasks and duties as assigned by the PHCC Head, Supervisor, Medical Officer/National Migration Health Officer.

Project reporting
- This role will work under the overall supervision of the Head of Sub Office and direct supervision of the Migration Health Physician.
Key competencies
- University degree BSc Nursing with 3 years clinical experience OR
- Diploma in Nursing with 5 years clinical experience OR
- Registered Nurse (RN), Midwife, Public Health and CHEW with a minimum of three years relevant clinical experience
- A valid license to practice nursing in Nigeria
- Excellent technical skills with at least minimum of three years of continuous practice post‐graduation, registered to practice in Nigeria and with a valid registration license in hospital or health setting.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain strong working relations with relevant Government counterparts, international organizations and private sector entities.
- Previous work experience with UN, International organizations and companies would be an advantage preferably within the United Nations or within the international humanitarian sector
- Training and experience in first-aid and emergency health, Tuberculosis management, immunizations, mental health, communicable diseases, laboratory testing or public health is an advantage
- Computer literacy required: MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Access)
- Good knowledge of clinical care especially in the Primary or secondary Health Care settings.
- Good communication skills and proven ability in working in a team.
- Counselling, health promotion, public health or migration health skills/experience is a plus.
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to maintain detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Fluency in English (oral and written) required, working knowledge of the local language is desirable
