The Gender Advisor will provide strategic input and advice on gender across the work of the ECOWAS funded Wi Eat Waiting We dea Plant project and will work within objective teams to ensure that gender equality is mainstreamed within those areas. She/he will contribute to the achievements of objectives and results set out in the Country Strategy by leading on the development.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Monitor and analyze developments on gender in the communities where the project is implemented
- Work with the Program Manager to ensure that a sound gender analysis informs program design and management, and identify strategic actions to be undertaken to improve the quality of program implementation
- Provide technical assistance in assessing the strength of their approach to gender equality.
- Provide advice on appropriate gender sensitive indicators in the performance measurement framework and support colleagues in the monitoring and reporting of program results/outputs and objectives against agreed indicators
- Develop and maintain positive working relations with a wide network of partners, including Government, development partners, parliament, media and NGOs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree an asset)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in gender equality programming or gender mainstreaming in development projects
- Proven experience conducting gender analysis and integrating gender into program design, implementation, and monitoring Strong knowledge of gender-sensitive indicators, results-based management, and donor reporting
