Farsight Africa is leading a project aimed at enhancing standards of corporate governance, environmental and social practices, risk management, and financial reporting in Somalia. This initiative seeks to strengthen the capacity of Somali organizations to meet international standards and attract investment opportunities.

Expert Roles: We are currently seeking experienced capacity building experts to join our team and contribute to the project’s objectives.

Key roles include:

  1. Project Manager:
  • Responsibilities:
    • Oversee the entire project, ensuring objectives are met within specified timeframe and budget.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders including operators, regulators, and firms in the ICT and Energy sectors.
  • Qualifications:
    1. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; Master’s degree preferred.
    2. Proven experience in project management, particularly in development projects.
    3. Strong communication and coordination skills.

      2. Training Program Coordinator:

  • Responsibilities:
    • Design and develop the off-the-shelf training and coaching package for Somali ICT and Energy operators.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content meets international standards.
  • Qualifications:
    • Degree in education, instructional design, or related field.
    • Experience in curriculum development and training program design.
    • Familiarity with ICT and Energy sectors preferred.

3. Subject Matter Experts

  • a) Corporate Governance Specialist
  • Responsibilities:
    • Develop policies and procedures meeting international corporate governance standards.
  • Qualifications:
    • Expertise in corporate governance practices.
    • Experience in policy development.
  • b) Environmental and Social Standards Specialist
  • Responsibilities
    • Integrate environmental and social considerations into business operations.
  • Qualifications:
    • Knowledge of environmental and social standards.
    • Experience in sustainability practices.
  • c) Risk Management Expert
  • Responsibilities:
    • Guide operators and regulators in implementing effective risk management practices.
  • Qualifications:
    • Strong background in risk management.
    • Experience in the financial sector preferred.

4. Financial Reporting Specialist:

Responsibilities:

  • Strengthen financial and prudential reporting processes to attract financing and FDI.
  • Qualifications:
    • Proficiency in financial reporting standards.
    • Experience in financial analysis.

      5. Investment Advisor:

  • Responsibilities:
    • Provide guidance on understanding investor requirements and financing options.
  • Qualifications:
    • Experience in investment advisory.
    • Knowledge of financing mechanisms.
  1. Industry Specialists:

a) Management Consultants:

  • Responsibilities:
    • Offer insights into best practice management processes in ICT and Energy sectors.
  • Qualifications:
    • Consulting experience in relevant industries.
    • Knowledge of international management practices.

b) Technical Experts:

  • Responsibilities:
    • Provide specialized knowledge to improve technical efficiencies in energy and ICT services.
  • Qualifications:
    • Technical expertise in ICT or Energy sectors.
    • Experience in technical consultancy.
