About the Role
The Operations Manager will oversee all Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) operations, ensuring safety, compliance with SOPs and IMAS/NMAS standards, and coordination with stakeholders including UNMAS and NMAA. Responsibilities include supervising field teams, quality assurance, training, reporting, and supporting programme development and strategic planning. The role also supports integration with other DRC sectors and manages external relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily HMA operations, safety, SOP compliance, and productivity.
- Ensure up-to-date accreditation documentation and QA/QC compliance.
- Supervise technical staff and support national capacity building.
- Coordinate procurement, logistics, and reporting.
- Contribute to proposals, budgets, and innovative HMA approaches.
- Maintain strong relationships with authorities, UNMAS, and partners.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in HMA operations, with 3+ years managing remote teams.
- IMAS EOD 3+ certified with strong field experience in mine clearance and BAC.
- Skilled in training, team leadership, and working in insecure environments.
- Strong reporting, communication, and IT skills.
- Fluent in English.
