Our client, Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS) is a faith-based not-for-profit organization with Head Office in Nairobi, Kenya. It is a registered Trust of Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) and the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK). The Organization’s core mandate is being a reliable supply chain for quality and affordable Health Products and Technologies and providing Quality Assurance and Health Systems Strengthening Services. MEDS was established in 1986 and serves clients spread all over Kenya, other regions in Africa and beyond.

MEDS is seeking to recruit a self-driven, results oriented ICT Manager with good professional and ethical standing to fill a vacancy.

ICT Manager reports to the Managing Director. The position is responsible for driving continuous optimization of operations through technology, ensuring innovation and renewal of core processes, continuous availability of ICT related systems including networks, databases and data security to guarantee reliability and support of operations in line with the organization’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leadership – Provide leadership, development and motivation to the ICT function including upskilling and training on best practice in line with current trends.
  2. Advisory – Provide advisory and support to the organisation and key stakeholders on ICT-related matters
  3. Budgeting – Prepare budgets for ICT function and monitor implementation to ensure cost containment and value for money
  4. Digital Transformation Strategy – Drive innovation and automation by defining and implementing the organisation’s digital transformation strategy
  5. Security – Put in place measures to safeguard the organisation’s ICT infrastructure and stakeholders against security breaches and threats
  6. Innovation – Provide advisory on implementation of trends in the tech industry that could enrich the digitisation of the organisation.
  7. Systems Audit – Ensure software and hardware updates are conducted regularly in accordance with needs of the organisation.
  8. Project Management – Plan, track and coordinate ICT projects from development through implementation working with internal and external stakeholders

Key Skills and Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in ICT, Business IT or a related discipline from a recognised University
  2. Master’s Degree in either IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or any other related field from a recognised institution
  3. Professional ICT qualifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent and other recognised qualifications will be an added advantage
  4. A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in information technology including computer operations management, at least two (3) of which must have been in a management position.
