ActionAid’s Young Urban Women: Life Choices and Livelihoods (YUW) Programme works with 10, 000 young women in urban settlements in India, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa, building their agency to claim their economic and social rights.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced International Project Manager–to provide overall oversight of the programme, working with national project staff in each of the project countries and a range of partners nationally and globally. The International Project Manager will also coordinate regional and international policy advocacy on behalf of the project, linking it to national and local-level work.

Who we’re looking for:

The successful candidate should be a university graduate with a degree in a relevant field with advanced project management experience of at least seven years in (a) development organization(s),preferably in multi-country women’s rights projects involving young people in the Global South. The ideal candidate should also have experience in policy research and analysis gained in an NGO or public policy context and excellent communications skills.

Jeroninio Almeida, the fund-raising director of ActionAid asserted that a serious subject can be dealt with in an entertaining way, without trivializing the issue. ActionAid spent Rs 50 lakh for the making of the movie.ActionAid also supported Shyam Benegal's 'Samar', starring Rajit Kapoor and Rajeshwari Sachdev. It is based on the book Unheard Voices: Stories of Forgotten Lives, written by Harsh Mander. The film raises issues about Dalits
