We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Logistics Officer / Driver

Location: Kano, Nigeria
Reports to: Admin/Finance Manager
Division/Department: Shared Services
Job type: Full time

Job Summary

  • The Logistics Officer/Driver will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable movement of project personnel and assets within Kano State.
  • This position will also provide essential administrative and logistical support to the project team, ensuring field activities are well-coordinated, and office supplies and inventory are well-managed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive project staff and assets to all designated locations, including remote LGAs and PHC facilities in Kano State.
  • Conduct daily pre-and post-trip vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and oversee routine servicing.
  • Accurately maintain all vehicle documentation, including trip logbooks, mileage, and fuel consumption records.
  • Provide hands-on logistical support for project field activities, including preparing, transporting, and setting up training materials and equipment.
  • Perform critical official errands, such as delivering and picking up sensitive documents and materials from government offices and partners.
  • Support minor local procurement processes, including obtaining quotes and delivering purchases.
  • Support the Admin team with managing and tracking project inventory, supplies, and minor assets

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of a Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSCE). A valid Nigerian commercial or professional driver’s license is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional driving experience, preferably with an international NGO, donor-funded project, or reputable organization.
  • Proven experience driving on challenging roads, particularly within Kano State LGAs.
  • Demonstrated experience in a logistics, administrative, or field support role is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics for routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Basic proficiency in written and spoken English and a high level of fluency in Hausa is essential.

Desired Competencies:

  • Knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics for routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Basic proficiency in written and spoken English and a high level of fluency in Hausa is essential.
  • Ability to handle and organize administrative documents (logbooks, receipts, inventory forms).
  • Professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with all project staff and stakeholders.
