Catholic Relief Services (CRS) has an internship program aimed at increasing opportunities for under-represented groups and increasing diversity in the workforce. Interns will receive a modest monthly stipend. Other details will be shared if you are selected for an interview in mid-January.
We anticipate a start date on March 1st, 2025 and an internship duration of six months.
The internship position we anticipate recruiting for is the following: MEAL INTERNS (1 in Yaoundé, 1 in Maroua, and 1 in Bamenda)
Learning objectives:
- Understand how monitoring and evaluation methodologies are created and applied based on project and country program objectives
- Apply accountability principles to feedback and complaint response mechanisms
- Understand the contextual challenges related to MEAL in emergency programming in Cameroon
- Obtain practical experience working within project teams and within the CRS Cameroon country program
Primary Responsibilities:
MEAL Intern in Yaoundé will:
- Support country program and individual projects with their learning agendas
- Support accountability and feedback mechanisms
- Support MEAL Community of Practice for Cameroon and Chad
- Revise/provide feedback on project MEAL documents
Qualifications: Bachelor / master’s degree in social sciences, statistics, Computer sciences, or any relevant field.
Languages: French (Bilingual French English is ideal)
MEAL Intern in Bamenda will:
- Liaise with data collectors during project monitoring activities to troubleshoot challenges and propose actionable recommendations to enable smooth data collection processes.
- Participate in all Monitoring Activities (OSM, PDM, etc.)
- Assist the MEAL team in planning, implementing and supervising field activities.
- Ensure that data entered on hard paper forms are entered into either CommCare or RedRose Collect for proper backup.
- Participate in the registration of Project participants.
- Provide daily updates for all MEAL activities.
Qualifications: BS in social sciences, statistics, Computer sciences, or any relevant field.
Languages: English, pidgin, the knowledge of one or two additional local languages can be an advantage
MEAL Intern in Maroua will:
- Acquire skills in monitoring and evaluation
- Draw up terms of reference for monitoring and evaluation activities
- Develop questionnaires
- Collect and analyze data for decision-making purposes
- Participate in data quality activities
- Update MEAL tools and produce weekly reports
- Participate in preparatory activities for coordination and supervision meetings
- Support the Accountability Officer in the follow-up and closure of feedback
Qualifications: Bachelor / master’s degree in social sciences, statistics, Computer sciences, or any relevant field.
Languages: French (Excellent reading, writing and speaking skills)
Others Relevant Skill:
Knowledge of data analysis software. (Word, Excel, SPSS, etc.)
Good ability to understand and analyze data
