Chemonics International, a U.S. based international development consulting firm, is recruiting for various technical and program management positions for the anticipated $25-50 million USAID-funded Feed the Future Tanzania Horticulture Activity. The project, anticipated to begin in early 2021, will aim to increase the competitiveness and inclusiveness of the horticulture subsector, enhance productivity and profitability of value chains, improve the nutritional status of Tanzanians and integrate large numbers of women and youth. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. In addition, we are seeking candidates with a willingness to work in Dar es Salaam as well as Morogoro,Iringa, Mbeya, Songwe and Zanzibar.

Technical Positions: Horticulture Value Chain Advisor, Market Systems Advisor, Private Sector Engagement Advisor, Financial Inclusion Specialist, Nutrition and Behavior Change Communication Specialist, Gender/Youth Inclusion Advisor

Qualifications

  • Degree required in agriculture, economics or relevant to the position, advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of seven years of professional experience in area of expertise
  • Experience working in East Africa, preferably in Tanzania
  • Experience working on international donor-funded projects. Recent experience working on USAID-funded agricultural development, nutrition, and/or food security programs highly preferred
  • Proven ability to work
    collaboratively with government officials, international donors, and private
    sector stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required

 Program

Monitoring and Evaluation and Learning Director;
Finance and Grants Director; Office Manager; Monitoring and Evaluation and
Learning Manager; Grants and Subcontracts Manager

 Qualifications

  • A degree in an area of expertise relevant to the position, advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience, experience on large, complex, donor-funded projects preferred
  • Experience with USAID programming, regulations and
    reporting requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in supervisory positions
  • Experience working in East Africa, preferably in Tanzania
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with government officials, international donors, and private sector stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required
