We are seeking a highly enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Nutrition Officer. The candidate will be responsible for implementing community-based nutrition programs, focusing on the prevention and treatment of malnutrition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the establishment and operation of therapeutic feeding centers or community management of acute malnutrition (CMAM) sites.
- Conduct nutrition screenings and assessments at the community level.
- Provide training and mentorship to community health workers and volunteers on nutrition practices and case identification.
- Promote optimal Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices through awareness campaigns.
- Ensure timely reporting and accurate documentation of all nutrition activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or a related field.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Passion for the mission of the organization and commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Understanding of optimal Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices.
- Skills in conducting nutrition screening and measurements.
- Ability to provide health education and training to caregivers and community members.
- Proficiency in collecting, documenting, and reporting nutrition-related data.
- Proficient in MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Web Conferencing Applications, AI applications
Language
- English fluency (written and verbal) is required.
- Knowledge of Afar af is an added value
