The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an International Catholic Organization and the work of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits). JRS was founded on 14th November 1980 in Rome, Italy. Over the years, the work of JRS has expanded globally to incorporate the ever-changing needs of refugees, internally displaced persons, migrants and other forcibly displaced persons. The JRS-Ethiopia programme was established in 1982 two years right after the international office establishment to assist thousands of displaced people (Internal and external), driven from their homes by political unrest and natural disasters. JRS wants to hire qualified professionals for vacant posts of its Addis Ababa, Mai-Aini (Shire) and Dollo Ado operation offices.
Part of the Positions’ Responsibilities
- In collaboration with the Country Director and Project teams, prepare the M&E Plan for on-going projects and new projects, including timeframe of activities, data collection methodology, tools to be used and expected delivery;
- Monitor the implementation of on-going and new projects and assure their adherence to the agreed processes and procedures: in collaboration with the Project team ensure the follow-up of projects indicators by sampling, collecting and analyzing data, guaranteeing quality data and reviewing reports;
- Develop monitoring and evaluation tools and procedures to ensure quality tracking of project output and outcomes, including tools to assess impact of activities and beneficiary satisfaction (e.g. survey questionnaires, focus group discussions, key informant interviews and analysis plans); Support all project teams in conducting monitoring and evaluation assessment and baselines;
- Visit regularly the projects and encourage learning based on best practices, lessons and feedback captured from beneficiaries to guide the design and implementation of JRS projects.
- Collaborate in program/project proposals, aligned with JRS Standards; ensuring that relevant information from secondary data, assessments, monitoring, evaluations and lessons learned are integrated in the proposals. Ensure that community inputs are considered in the project design process;
- Lead and facilitate self-employment training program curriculum development
- Design short-term trainings on M&E, qualitative & quantitative data collection,
- Conduct training needs & impact assessment, project evaluation
- Ensure quality of trainings delivered to the beneficiaries
Terms of Employment One Year with renewable Contract based on Performance & availability of fund

Qualification
- B.A/B.Sc./M.A/M.Sc.. in Economic, Statistics, Development Management & Evaluation, Development Studies, Sociology and other related fields
Work Experience
- 8 Years for B.A or 6 Years for M.A/M.Sc
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience conducting research including designing written surveys, conducting interviews, and analyzing data
- Leveraging the resources of national governments and partners/ building strategic alliances and partnerships
- Knowledge of project cycle management and sphere standards;
- Only Women will be accepted for Position # 6
- Experience in developing assessment tools (e.g. questionnaires, focus group discussions);
- Demonstrated experience and capacity in conducting field-level data collection, data entry, and data analysis;
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to write clear and well-argued reports;
- Excellent organization, time and general management skills
- Knowledge of normal child and adolescent development and issues affecting youth;
- Ability to provide leadership and healthy role modeling to youth;
- Critical thinking, strong analytical skills and objective judgments;
- High degree of competency using Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Self-motivated, highly organized team player
- An entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit
- Understands cooperative business principles in other sectors

- Speaking and writing in a second language: French, Arabic , Tigrigna are advantageous
