Overview

Positive action for Development (PAD) is an Ethiopian resident’s charity organization. The organization has legally registered by Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopian Charities and Societies agency on June 6/2011, licensed under the registration number 2330.

PAD has been working on Foster care and legal adoption, health, economic strengthening, livelihood and other developmental jobs to benefit vulnerable women and children, mentally ill people, street children and orphan vulnerable children having a vision to see a poverty free Ethiopia where underserved communities have access to basic services, economically and socially developed and enjoy acceptable standards of living with equity.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the overall projects both in Addis Ababa and field offices.
  • Plan, mobilize and manage resources within the community, government sector offices and Ngo’s to support the task.
  • Build and strengthen relationship with government offices, donors and other charity organization.
  • Accomplish project activities keeping the quantity and quality planned in the project
  • Work closely with government structures, CBOs, religious leaders, NGOs working related jobs…etc.
  • Coordinate and facilitate projects working target regions by the organization
  • Compile and organize reports of different  projects to donors and government partners
  • Frequently update the progress of activities to the program directing unit.

 Location /duty station:

  • Addis Ababa with frequent travel to regional field sites

Job Requirements

  • BA or MA Degree in project management, Economics, Management, Sociology or related fields.
  • Minimum of Five years of experience for BA Degree and 3 years’ experience for MA Degree
  • Experience in practical fieldwork and experience in NGO will be an advantage.
  • Must demonstrate gender responsiveness in all assigned tasks and responsibilities
  • Must have strong writing and communication skills in English languages.
  • Skills and experience in computer applications and utilization is mandatory.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision and have strong interpersonal skills and skills to promote teamwork.
  • Must demonstrate strong interest and commitment to work in the development of Foster care and local adoption, mental health, street children and other vulnerable community’s projects.
  • Must have demonstrable personal integrity and honesty and must have a pleasant personality.
  • Must have a demonstrable practical problem-solving skills
  • Must be willing to travel frequently to project activity regions and woredas as per need.
