Plan International Ghana is looking to recruit an experienced and qualified professional as Project Accountant for one of its projects.

PROJECT SYNOPSIS

The Integrated Package for Sustainable Development project (I-PADEV) seeks to contribute to creating a resilient and protective environment both at home and at school for better health and learning outcomes for children, especially girls, through equitable access to and effective utilization of WASH, ECCD, education, health facilities and services to a total of 18,668 community members comprising 9,453 women/girls and 9,215 boys/men will benefit directly from the project. This includes 10,094 school children, 4,957 boys and 5,137 girls. The Integrated Package for Sustainable Development project (I-PADEV) will be implemented in the West Mamprusi municipality and Jasikan Districts of the North East and Oti regions respectively.

ABOUT YOU

The Project Accountant is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient coordination of project related activities towards the implementation of the Project. Under the direction of the Project Manager, the position holder would assist in the day-to-day activities of planning, managing, coordinating, and superintending operations, support, monitoring and reporting tasks. The post-holder will be based in the SPIIA office and the role will involve travel to project communities where the project operates for approximately 40% of her/his time.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Qualifications & Experience:

  • University degree in Accounting plus ICA Ghana Part 2 or ACCA Foundation Level (Part 1 and Part 2), or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Fair knowledge of project management.
