Remember the Poorest Community (RPC) is an Ethiopian non-profit organization established in 2001, dedicated to transforming the lives of the poorest and most vulnerable children and women through programs in education, health, nutrition, economic empowerment, and child protection. RPC operates across Addis Ababa, Oromia, and Amhara regions, and has reached over 1.3 million community members through 32+ projects.

Position Summary

RPC is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and results-oriented Project Coordinator to oversee and coordinate all ongoing projects across the Oromia and Amhara regions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full project cycle from proposal development and fundraising to implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting while working closely with the RPC Director, Administration, and Finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Management

  • Organize, plan, and direct all RPC projects in Oromia and Amhara regions from initiation to closure.
  • Develop detailed project work plans, budgets, and implementation schedules.
  • Ensure timely and quality delivery of all project activities in line with donor and organizational requirements.

Proposal Development & Fundraising

  • Lead the preparation of funding proposals and concept notes for new projects.
  • Identify and pursue fundraising opportunities from local and international donors.
  • Maintain relationships with existing and potential funding partners.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)

  • Design and implement M&E frameworks, tools, and systems for all projects.
  • Conduct regular field visits to project sites in Oromia and Amhara regions.
  • Analyze project data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Compile and prepare high-quality periodic and final project reports.
  • Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date project records.

Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with the RPC Director, Administration Head, and Finance Head.
  • Coordinate with government offices, community structures, and partner organizations.
  • Represent RPC in relevant meetings, workshops, and forums.
About You

Education

  • Master’s degree in Project Management, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on children’s rights and/or women’s empowerment programs.
  • Demonstrated track record in child protection, child sponsorship, or women’s economic empowerment initiatives is strongly required.
  • Proven experience in proposal writing, fundraising, and M&E.
  • Experience working in Oromia and/or Amhara regions is highly desirable.

Skills

  • Strong organizational, planning, and coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Amharic; knowledge of Oromiffa is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and report writing.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to Oromia and Amhara regions.
