The Opportunity
The position will support the implementation of Strengthening the Resilience, Stabilization, Peace and Social Cohesion of Crisis-Affected Populations in the Logone et Chari Division, Far North Region of Cameroon. The aim of this project is to strengthen the socio-economic resilience of vulnerable populations, stabilization of peace and security through the prevention and fight against violent extremism within communities, particularly among young people.
The Project Coordinator is responsible for providing administration support to the other specialists on the project in the delivery of their roles, project delivery model, Support the participatory development and overall implementation of the project based on feminist values and principles.
Under the supervision of the Emergency Response Manager, as the Project Coordinator, you will be primarily responsible for achieving the project’s objectives, provide support to the project staff and will make the teams responsible for the security and management of the equipment and tools made available to them to carry out their tasks (prevention of misuse and theft). You will be responsible for organising the feedback of reliable and up-to-date information (various technical notes, etc.) to enable realistic programming (operational and financial) of activities in line with the project document. Be actively involved in the preparation of periodic reports on the activities carried out in order to keep the CLT informed of the Project progress in the field. You will contribute, within the limits of the time available, to discussion meetings with other stakeholders on site and work closely with other Plan International colleagues and external stakeholders. Through your leadership, you will be expected to create a working atmosphere that is a source of emulation for the members of your team.
The Individual
We are looking to recruit a qualified candidate, with a Master’s Degree in Social Science or Social work, and other related field with a minimum of 05 years substantial experience of which at least 03 years’ experience with NGOs and one year in emergency context. As a Project coordinator, you will demonstrated experience of working on resilience, stabilization, peace and social cohesion and Gender equality and inclusion. An experience with a diverse set of stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including from policy-makers and senior management to local government and CSOs, as well as community leaders and beneficiaries and a good understanding challenges and opportunities in the communities and field level realities of NGOs are desirable.
