About the role

We are currently seeking a Regional Business Development Leadto take a technical and strategic lead on business development for large-scale opportunities within Sub Saharan Africa region.

The Regional Business Development Lead will play a leading role in securing new, high-value, strategically important opportunities across the region, supporting the regional Senior Management Team with the identification, cultivation and winning of new contract opportunities. You will oversee and be accountable for the end to end management of the proposal process within the region, ensuring that the quality of funding proposals meet the highest internal standards. You will provide bid oversight and support the design and quality assurance of our high-impact education solutions and Client Relationship Management (CRM).

We are interested in hearing from individuals with business development experience at a regional level preferably in multiple countries within Sub Saharan Africa. You should have technical knowledge of educational systems and policy issues in the region, a strong skill-set around business design and communication and stakeholder management experience. Experience of successful contract bidding, the ability to deliver high-scoring proposals and excellent knowledge of the procurement processes of international donors (FCDO, USAID, UNICEF) is essential. You should have a passion for leading, managing and developing multi-disciplinary teams to meet or exceed delivery targets and achieve client satisfaction.

The position will be based in any of our SSA offices in Ethiopia/Kenya/Rwanda/Zimbabwe/Sierra Leone, with frequent travel to the regional office in Nairobi, Kenya and to the global headquarters office in Reading, UK. You should have the right to work in one of our regional offices in SSA.
