Overview of position
- CTG is looking for candidates whose experience match the below TOR.
Role objectives
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in the preparation of sites, including but not limited to performing site survey for optimal placement of satellite dishes, drafting recce reports, developing bills of quantities & coordinating with the engineering section for civil works pertaining to the installation of new satellite links & ancillaries (satellite modems, interfacility cables, grounding, etc.).
- Assist in the preparation / installation, alignment of fixed, mobile & portable VSAT system terminals of up to 7.3 meters to maximize overall link performance.
- Assist in the installation UPS & AC / DC power backup solutions.
- Perform fault diagnosis & repair.
- Perform daily monitoring of the VSAT links, draft daily performance reports to capture trends.
- Participate in regular, routine, preventive & corrective maintenance works on ICT equipment in the mission.
- Ensure that all necessary spare parts & supplies are available to reduce downtime of ICT equipment.
- Conduct receipt & inspection of new ICT equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Other duties & responsibilities:
- Ensure, in coordination with the property management group, that appropriate ICT inventory records are updated & kept.

Project reporting
- This role will report to the line manager.
Key competencies
- High school diploma with at least an academic or technical certificate in telecommunication or related field is required, a bachelor’s degree in telecommunication, electronics, information technology or related field is an asset.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- At least 5 years working experience in the satellite field.
- Working experience in a conflict of post conflict environment.
- Must have working experience in the installation, configuring & troubleshooting on newtech & i-direct satellite modem series.
- Proficiency with specialized, hand & power tools such as spectrum analyzer is required.
- Experience in installation, configuring & troubleshooting of mini links modems, power converters & rectifiers.
- Fluency in English, both written & oral, is required & knowledge of French is desirable.
- Strong knowledge for a wide range of telecommunications equipment such as BGAN, SATCUBE, STARLINK, THOUGHSAT, THURAYA & INMARSAT.
- Deep understanding of Satellite System Operations Guide (SSOG) procedures.
- Knowledge in site surveys, installation & commissioning of VSAT fixed terminal (2.4 M, 3.8 M, 4.9 M & 7.3 M).
