How can you make a difference?
The Information Management Specialist will be responsible for the management and analysis of data from the Child Protection Development and Emergency Program. The purpose of this position is to manage data collection, analysis, and sharing of important and relevant information for members of the Child Protection Sub-Cluster to make evidence-based informed strategic decisions. The Information Manager is a key member and actor of the child protection sub-cluster. The information manager will also have a key role in strengthening the capacity of government structures in all matters concerning data collection and information management.
- Support sub-cluster and child protection government coordination mechanism members with templates and dashboards based on the data collection tools that facilitate data collection – followed by analysis and dissemination of information products;
- Provide technical assistance to implementing partners’ database managers on the use of standard Child Protection Sub-Cluster information management tools, including useful recommendations for improvement;
- Respond to the information needs of members of the Child Protection sub-cluster and the government structures;
- Provide technical support to the Child Protection Sub-Cluster coordination and the government structures at national and regional levels on the use of information management tools;
- Provide information management leadership in assessments and monitoring, including joint assessments and training: ensure that relevant child protection in emergencies indicators are included in multi-sectoral assessments, other sector assessments, and DTM, and subsequently contribute to data analysis;
- Periodically produce and share statistical analyses of data on children affected by emergencies and other vulnerable children, including trend analyses;
- Support the development and analysis of needs assessment and monitoring programs
- Technically support data collection and information management for the Child Protection section in the development agenda as required
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- Education:Advanced university degree, preferably at a high level in a relevant field for information management, development planning, or advanced statistical research. Formal training in cluster information management is an advantage.
- Experience:Five years of experience in program development and implementation including information management and evaluation of activities; experience in developing humanitarian monitoring tools is required. At least three years of humanitarian work experience with the United Nations and/or NGOs, experience in emergency programs, active participation in a humanitarian crisis response program is desired.
- Language: Fluency in English and French is required.
