AVSI is a prominent provider of development and humanitarian assistance around the world and brings strong management and innovative strategies to programs in various sectors including: Agriculture and Food Security, Child Protection, Education, Energy, Health, Livelihood, Economic Strengthening, Wash, Vocational Training & Job Creation, Health, Protection including child protection, and Environment.
We are seeking candidates to apply following position in anticipation for the Somalia Empowering Women through Education and Skills “Rajo Kaaba” Project funded through the Federal Government of Somalia Ministry of Education Culture and Higher Education (World Bank funds) in Jubbaland State of Somalia:
1.TVET Specialist:
Education: Advanced degree in Engineering, Education, Economics, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in technical and vocational education strengthening, workforce development, women’s skills development, and youth development, in Somalia or countries with similar contexts.
- Experience developing and implementing effective capacity-strengthening models and approaches for organizations and individuals.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the economic, and educational contexts of women and youth in Somalia.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders including, Government departments, donors, the private sector, and community-based institutions.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills including conflict resolution abilities.
- Excellent communication in both English and Somali.
