Over the years our journey has evolved in multiple ways and directions, with a significant impact on our staff, projects, and relationships both in Italy and with partner-countries. Indeed, since Doctors with Africa CUAMM first set out on its “adventure” in 1950 our organization has branched out in countless directions – as many as the more than one thousand individuals who over the decades have made a personal commitment to our organization, dedicating their professional time and energy to serve disadvantaged communities around the world. Just a few facts and figures 1,615 is the number of individuals who have worked on Cuamm projects abroad and 434 of them have gone on to repeat the experience at least once, if not more often; 5,096 is the number of years of service provided by these individuals to needy communities abroad, with an average of 3 to 4 years each; 1,073 is the number of students who have lodged at Cuamm’s university college, including 708 Italians and 280 foreign students from 34 countries around the world; 165 is the number of programs that Cuamm has implemented in cooperation with the Italian Foreign Ministry, the European Union and various international agencies; 221 is the number of hospitals we have served; 41 is the number of countries we have partnered with.
