Rural Education Access Programme (REAP)

REAP was registered as an incorporated association in 2001, having previously operated as Catholic Education Assistance Programme (CEAP). REAP is an associate body of the Southern African Catholic Bishops' Conference (SACBC) but assists all young people regardless of faith or affiliation. REAP has Level 3 BEE status. We are registered as a non-profit organisation in South Africa and have tax exemption status. Donations to REAP are therefore exempt from tax.

REAP is a national programme with its head office in Cape Town and regional offices in Johannesburg and Durban. We currently have a team of 30 staff members and a wide network of recruitment volunteers and NGO partners throughout South Africa. Our students originate from rural schools in all 9 provinces and are enrolled in a wide range of courses at 16 different Higher Education Institutions.
