We are hiring a Logistician and Inventory Manager to join our team in South Sudan and manage logistics and medical warehouses for the Emergency Response project connected to 2 partner hospitals. A day in the life of a Logistician and Inventory Manager, Emergency Response:

In the role of Logistician and Inventory Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Provide the overall management of the medical inventory and medical warehouses, with control mechanisms put in place, for all storage, handling, and movement of pharmaceuticals and medical commodities.
  • Design, implement, and maintain an effective pharmaceutical and medical commodities system of procurement, transportation, and storage of all project and office relief and support materials and commodities.
  • Work with the Emergency Response Health and Nutrition Program Manager to develop an accurate procurement and logistics plan based on program needs and deadlines.
  • Monitor road access and security status throughout project areas to ensure safe and timely logistics of supplies being transported by road. Accurately reports the status of all supplies being transported by road to the field staff.
  • Work in coordination with the Area Coordinator, Emergency Health and Nutrition Manager, and logistics team for logistical needs of getting supplies to the field.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • University degree in humanitarian logistics or warehouse management with three (3) to five (5) years of proven experience in humanitarian logistics or warehousing operation at international level; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office and computer programs
  • Thorough knowledge of spreadsheets and data reconciliation
  • Working knowledge of inventory management systems
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, opportunity to meet and complete requirement is available upon hire.

Job Location: Unity State, South Sudan

Type: Full-Time

Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required); Arabic is helpful

Accompaniment: Unaccompanied

Travel Expectations: 80-90 days/annually; required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary
