Overview of Position
The Electrical Engineer Specialist will be part of the management Services Unit, working in close collaboration with the Country Office Engineering Unit. This role is essential for designing, implementing, and Maintaining safe and Efficient electrical systems across various client’s projects and facilities in South Sudan. The incumbent will coordinate with service providers, participate in assessment missions, and follow established procedures to meet our client’s infrastructural and operational needs.
Electrical Systems Design and implementation: Design and Maintain efficient, safe electrical systems for client’s projects and facilities across South Sudan, ensuring alignment with client’s standards and policies.
Engineering Expertise and Project Management: Provide expert technical guidance in project management, leveraging best practices, standards, and analysis of project proposals to aid in effective decision-making, project design, and implementation.
Role Objectives
Key Responsibilities:
1. Electrical Design and Assessment
- Conduct assessments and develop preliminary or detailed designs for electrical installations, complete with business cases, calculations, and technical drawings.
- Execute design and implementation in line with the client’s Construction Manual, ensuring adherence to policies and guidelines.
- Prepare recommendations for improvements in facility safety, efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
- Establish and oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems, maintain project performance monitoring, evaluating and reporting procedures, up to project completion.
2. Budgeting, Reporting and Cost Estimation
- Develop project budgets and accurate cost estimates for the installation of electrical systems within client’s Projects.
- Contribute to timely, data-informed reporting reporting on outputs to facilitate decision-making and project adjustments.
3. Procurement and Tender Preparation
- Provide technical expertise during the procurement process, ensuring compliance with electrical standards and requirements.
- Assemble tender packages, including scope of work, bill of quantities, evaluation criteria, and contract documents for electrical installations.
4. Stakeholder Liaison and Coordination
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical updates and reports on project progress to stakeholders as requested.
5. Project Supervision and Quality Assurance
- Supervise electrical installation works, providing guidance to contractors and consulting firms.
- Establish and oversee the installation and commissioning pf electrical systems, ensuring project performance monitoring, evaluation, and reporting up to project completion.
- Conduct quality assurance inspections during both design and implementation phases to uphold client’s standards.
6. Technical Support and Documentation
- Utilize CAD software and other engineering tools to produce accurate design and project documentation.
- Maintain a record of project performance and outcomes, contributing to lessons learned for future infrastructure improvements.
7. Additional Duties
- Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor to support client’s objectives in South Sudan.

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, other engineering software and MS Office
- Advanced writing and verbal communication skills in English
