Winrock is seeking a professional to lead the demand creation component of an anticipated USAID-funded project in Zambia to scale up clean cooking technologies and fuels, while reducing charcoal production and use. The Lead for Demand Creation will supervise individuals or firms to conduct consumer surveys, and campaigns to increase awareness of clean cooking technologies and fuels and change cooking-related behavior. This position is contingent on receipt of donor funding.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Implement public awareness and behavior change campaigns
- Develop partnerships with banks, microfinance institutions, and savings group
- Aggregate demand at financial institutions and companies
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education:
- Degree in marketing, advertising, behavior change communication, or a relevant field
Work Experience:
- A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional experience
- Zambian national preferred
- Experience marketing one or more health, wellness, or renewable energy products to consumers through use of public interest messaging
- Demonstrated experience forming, training, and managing teams of staff and/or consultants
- Proven track record implementing awareness campaigns and consumer surveys
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with private companies
- Entrepreneurship experience preferred
- Experience working on USAID-funded projects preferred
Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and ability to motivate staff to be accountable for project outcomes.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and strong track record in meeting deliverables and deadlines and ability to provide oversight of financial and operational aspects of projects
- Experience managing marketing campaigns preferred
- Experience managing marketing firms preferred
