Through the BMGF-funded Workforce Development project, inSupply Health aims to improve the effectiveness, sustainability, and resilience of public health supply chains for essential medicines and supplies in East Africa through professionalization, shaping of workforce culture for more robust supply and demand planning, and supply chain visibility. The project focuses on improving the technical skills of health workers ensuring inclusivity at sub-national levels and their motivation to apply new knowledge and skills, strengthening operational processes to enhance data visibility and use, facilitating better decision-making, and fostering an enabling ecosystem for supply chain professionalization, emphasizing the role of professional bodies and government institutions.

Deliverables:

inSupply Health is looking for a consultant to work closely with the team in developing key messages, visual materials, and a plan aimed at promoting awareness, uptake, and completion of virtual learning resources that target building skills for four primary categories of Health Workers in Health Supply Chain management. The consultant should build on existing Human-Centered Design (HCD) research and use HCD principles in designing the messages and marketing. These materials will be utilized for social media marketing across various channels to promote the uptake of learning materials, micro modules, and other resources. The deliverables will include:

  • Key messages tailored to each of the 4 cadres of health workers (nurses, pharmacists, pharmaceutical technologists, and laboratory technicians),
  • Graphics and templates, for use on social media channels.
  • A 12-month content delivery calendar.

Specifically, the consultant should:

  1. Review existing HCD research to identify key messages in three broad categories, including:
    1. Building knowledge and skills,
    2. Enhancing performance and practice, and
    3. Advancing career progression
  2. Using existing HCD research, segment key messages for each target audience, incorporating testimonials where appropriate. Target audiences include nurses, pharmacists, pharmaceutical technologists, and laboratory technicians.
  3. Tailor the promotional materials and delivery plan to the needs of the four different cadres of healthcare workers.
  4. Ensure the messaging and materials incorporate the value of health workers, promoting equal and inclusive access, participation, and well-being of the most vulnerable, completing the full package of micromodules
  5. Design gender sensitive visually appealing templates and materials consistent with inSupply branding, which includes graphics relevant and appealing to health workers that can be used to deliver key messages via social media and other online forums.
  6. Develop a content delivery calendar for 12 months that schedules all key messages for all target audiences, ready for implementation by the project team.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in creating visually appealing campaign materials and delivering marketing messages, assets, and plans.
  • Experience working with gender-inclusive marketing in the public sector in East and Southern Africa targeting health workers is highly desired.
  • Background and experience in using human-centered design to craft messages and materials.
  • Context-specific experience and expertise working in East and Southern Africa.
